60 seconds. 4 steps.
A pea-sized scoop is all it takes. Here's the exact technique your braider would use.
The install
Scoop pea-sized
One small dab — about the size of a pea. Less than you think. The #1 mistake is using too much.
Apply to edges only
Around the hairline. Not the scalp. Not the lengths. Edge gel is for edges — that's why it's strong.
Smooth with the brush
Use a fine-tooth edge brush. Smooth in the direction you want them laid — down, sideways, swirled. The gel sets in the shape you brush.
Tie a silk scarf · wait 5 min
Wrap the hairline with a silk or satin scarf for five minutes. This sets the shape without pressing the edges flat. Untie, you're done.
Day-to-day care
Re-wet, don't re-apply
If your edges loosen by Day 5, lightly mist water on the hairline and smooth with the brush. The polymer re-activates without adding more gel — no buildup.
Sleep with a silk wrap
Cotton pillowcases pull edges out of place overnight. A silk or satin scarf adds 4-5 days to the install.
Sweat is fine
Gym-tested. Workout, hot yoga, sauna — the formula doesn't melt or run. Pat dry, don't rub.
Removal is easy
One wash with warm water and your usual cleanser breaks it down completely. No buildup, no scrub, no residue.
Bring the jar to your braid appointment. Most stylists prefer applying it themselves during the install — it sets cleaner from the start.
